The people of China are snapping up the Ford Fiesta like they were hotcakes. What trade deficit?

“Demand for the new Ford Fiesta remains strong with 4,629 units sold in August, pushing Fiesta January –August sales up by 75% as compared to the same period in 2009. The significant sales surge for Fiesta can be attributed to its recent inclusion in China’s national fuel-efficient vehicle directory, which qualifies new Fiesta owners for an RMB 3000 purchase incentive provided by the government.”
