40 MPG Focus Joins Ford’s Lineup of Efficiency Leaders. Nice to be a leader, right?

Blue Oval has become the only full-line automaker in the U.S. with four vehicles capable of reaching the mark. And notably, all four can do so with an automatic transmission, unlike key members of the competition.

The Focus joins the new Fiesta, with EPA ratings of 29 mpg city/40 mpg highway, and the Ford Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, both capable of 41 mpg city/36 mpg highway, among the company’s 40-mpg foursome. But Ford’s commitment to fuel-efficiency leadership doesn’t end there. In fact, Ford and Lincoln combine to boast a clean dozen vehicles that top their segments for fuel economy.

The all-new Ford Ranger boasts impressive capabilities, even the ability to pull a locomotive. But one of its more impressive features is its ability to go deeper than any other pickup in its segment, with a best-in-class water-wading capability of up to 800 mm.

Both 4×4 and 4×2 Hi-Rider models can wade through deep water even while carrying a full load. Even fully laden with cargo, the Ranger can ford rivers or floods, giving owners greater peace of mind.
